Commission terms

Last updated: September 30, 2026

Every painting is made to order, so here's how a commission works from first message to your door.

Quotes

After you send a request, I'll email you a quote within 24 hours. It lists the size, the total price, shipping, the deposit, and the date your painting should arrive. Nothing is booked until you accept the quote and pay the deposit.

Prices on this site are in Canadian dollars and are starting prices. Extra buildings, pets, people, or a lot of detail can change the price. The quote is the final number.

Deposit and payment

A deposit, listed in your quote, reserves your spot and lets me start. The balance is due when the painting is finished, before it ships. I'll send you a photo of the finished piece first.

Timing

Most paintings take about 2 weeks from start to your door. Holiday orders must be booked by December 1st. Your quote gives your specific delivery date.

If I don't deliver within 30 days after the delivery date in your quote, you can cancel and get a full refund, including your deposit.

Changes

You'll get a progress photo along the way. Small adjustments are welcome while I'm painting. Big changes after I've started (a different scene or size, for example) may cost extra, and I'll always ask first.

Cancellations and refunds

You can cancel for a full refund any time before I start painting. Once I've started, the deposit isn't refundable, because the time and materials can't be reused. If something goes wrong on my end, I'll make it right.

Shipping

Paintings ship ready to hang, packed carefully, with tracking. If your painting arrives damaged, email me a photo within a few days of delivery and I'll repair or replace it.

A handmade piece

Each painting is hand-painted in acrylic, so it's an interpretation of your photos, not an exact copy. Colours can look slightly different on screen than in person.

Your photos and the artwork

Please only send photos you took or have permission to use. I use them only to create your painting (see the privacy policy).

You own the physical painting. I keep the copyright, which means prints and reproductions need my permission. I'll only share photos of your piece online with your permission.
